The older patient gets they're much more fun to interact with. They have so many different stories and they talk about life experiences. That really enriches you, and it just gives you a very different feeling of completeness. It's not just that you take care of them, it's what they teach you while you are taking care of them, I think that's a beautiful aspect of back and forth, which I enjoy most in geriatrics.
Babu Gupta, MD, Medical Director

I really enjoy geriatric psychiatry for a number of reasons. One is that I love to hear the history of people that have lived a full life and have a history to share. I find that very fascinating. I love hearing about what they worked out, problems they've had over their lives, successes they've had, their children or grandchildren—I find that very interesting and am kind of a student of history.
Kind words from the families of our residents
Being able to visit our loved one in a safe and secure environment has reduced our stress enormously. It’s evident when we visit how much she enjoys being surrounded by the loving staff. She often refers to the staff members as “my friends”.
From that first day, she was welcomed as family. She immediately developed a strong bond with the entire staff. She was home.
