Serene Suites Memory Care

Serene Suites Memory Care

Making life easier for the one you love.

Watching a loved one struggle with dementia is one of the hardest things you can go through.

You may feel like the person you love is slowly slipping away, even while they sit opposite you at the dinner table, looking the same as ever.

For many, changes in personality, confusion, and memory loss are just as heartbreaking as the physical struggles their loved one experiences. You may feel exhausted, hopeless and uncertain about how you can help and support the person you love.

While there is no easy way through this process, you don’t have to face it alone.

The Serene Suites difference

Compassionate care, grounded in specialized solutions.

Our brains are unique places, shaped by our biology, environment, and life experiences.

When a person develops a degenerative brain disease such as dementia or Alzheimer’s, their symptoms will be unique as well. No two people have the same experience, which is why no two care plans should look alike.

That’s why our memory care facility has developed a highly focused system of care that is centered around the individual, intentionally tailored to their physical, emotional, and psychological wants and needs.

From the most minute of details, to big routine care decisions, every component of our community is designed to provide the personalized support, comfort, and security your loved one deserves, in order to live their best life possible.

Helping people cope with memory loss is our passion

No two people suffering from dementia have the same experience. And for that reason, none of our care plans are exactly the same.

To tackle dementia effectively, our memory care facility focuses on developing deeply personalized, dynamic care plans, influenced by a number of factors, including your loved one’s personality, the stage of their illness, input from family and loved ones, medical history, and much more.

We then unite whole-body care practices with groundbreaking medical research, to immediately begin elevating your loved one’s quality of life, from the moment they join our memory care community.

Built with your in mind

Built with your in mind

We care about the small things.

From the moment our residents get up, to the moment they go to sleep, Serene Suites is committed to creating a soothing and calming environment.

Our memory care facility has been tailored to promote wellness in people with dementia and related diseases, down to the smallest details. Here are just some small ways we’ve designed our community with the needs of our residents in mind:

Soothing surroundings

Sensory calming rooms - We aim to reduce stress through intentional lighting, sound, and other sensory measures.

Red light bathrooms - Research indicates (https://www.degreewellness.com/2020/08/research-shows-red-light-therapy-may-aid-memory-recovery-and-prevent-cognitive-decline-from-alzheimers-and-dementia/) that red light therapy may help slow the progress of dementia.

Solid, concrete construction to block out noise from outside, as well as between floors and rooms in the community.

Upholstery with simple patterns that don’t disorient, calming colors, and minimal art work on walls.

Larger corridors (with reinforced floorboards for quiet, rhythmic walking)

Extensive natural light sources

Enhanced security

Activity stations

Wellness activities

A good day for your loved one is a good day for us.

Our residents have always led rich, interesting lives. And we’re not about to let dementia get in the way of that.

That’s why we’re dedicated to providing an array of fulfilling, entertaining activities that serve your loved one’s mind, body, and emotional well-being.

Finding purposeful living

Our memory care facility focuses on creating a reciprocal environment in which residents engage in projects with a purpose.

These projects stimulate executive cognitive function, while also encouraging social interactions.

We are careful to choose simple yet varied activities that offer larger value: from folding napkins for meals, to flower arranging centerpieces, to making dog treats for local shelters, we have a variety of projects available.

Family resources

Family resources

We’re here for you whenever you need us.

The question of whether to move your loved one to a memory care facility is often a difficult, emotional decision.

We never want you to carry that burden alone.

To help in this time of stress, we offer resources to family members and caregivers of residents, as well as frequent check-ins to discuss the health of your loved one.

Counseling

We meet with families upon admission, as well as every 90 days thereafter, to offer regular check-ins and emotional support. During these meetings, we discuss diet, social activities, medication, and beyond, in addition to what you can expect going forward and how you can help support memory wellness.

TESTIMONIALS

Kind words from the families of our residents

Being able to visit our loved one in a safe and secure environment has reduced our stress enormously. It’s evident when we visit how much she enjoys being surrounded by the loving staff. She often refers to the staff members as “my friends”.

Laura

From that first day, she was welcomed as family. She immediately developed a strong bond with the entire staff. She was home.
